You're invited to attend the . . .
2010 Feast of Tabernacles
Celebration
In beautiful
Colorado Springs, Colorado
September 23 -- 30, 2010
(Thursday to Thursday)
The Association for Christian Development is pleased to host this year's celebration at the facilities of the Embassy Suites, a Hilton Hotels property. We have made special arrangements for guest rooms and will be holding our daily services in the hotel's attractive meeting room.
The Feast of Tabernacles is the festive climax to a year of biblical celebrations long ago given by God to his people. This inspiring festival pictures God bringing His Messianic Kingdom of peace and plenty to earth. The most glorious and hopeful prophecies of the entire Old Testament focus on this future event. It bring remembrance of God's deliverance of oppressed Israelites from Egypt and His dwelling with them as they traversed to the Promised Land--a land flowing with milk and honey. That picture was but a type of the great archetypical deliverance from the rule of man to the rule of God, from death to Life. The literal arrival of the Kingdom of God is the epic event of all biblical prophecy. Its coming to earth will trigger the resurrection of Saints to life everlasting, and Yahweh and his Son will bring truth, peace, and justice to all mankind.
During his ministry, Jesus joined fellow God-fearers attending the FOT in Jerusalem and many Christians follow his example to this day. Jesus Christ will be King of Kings on earth and bring the dawn of a new age of joy and love. Its coming marks the beginning of "all things new and beautiful." It is the event that the Passover words of Jesus anxiously anticipate, "I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom" (Mt 26:29). Let us celebrate this Hope with our Creator and with His Son.
Agenda
Services will be held from 10 AM to 11:30 AM every day except Monday which is Family Day. We are scheduling some of the finest speakers who will present a variety of messages on the associated themes of this centerpiece of the Gospel--the Kingdom of God. There will be singing, special music, activities, discussions and plenty of time for fellowship and relaxation. All of this in a setting of geologic splendor and in a city that is truly a tourist's delight. This is a family affair so feel free to invite friends and family to join you in celebrating the 2010 Feast of Tabernacles in Colorado Springs.

We have negotiated a good rate for Guest Suites and have reserved a block in the name of the Association for Christian Development. The room rate is $92.00 per night and this is what they call the "Run of the House" rate. That rate includes up to four people to a room. Also included is a full cooked-to-order breakfast for each guest and a nightly complimentary Manager's Reception of two drinks and a variety of light snacks and appetizers. All the hotel's fine facilities are also available including the pool, fitness center, complimentary parking, etc. When one considers the cost of a full breakfast and nightly refreshments (for you and those in your room) that $92 room rate looks mighty reasonable.

Questions
If you have questions about the FOT or about the accommodations and schedules in Colorado Springs, feel free to drop us a note at the address below or email me directly at acd@godward.org. Our local hosts are Merle and Jo Beth Vines, and their daughter Dr. Candace Mitchell. The Vine's phone number is: 682-518-1648.
Note: Some reviews of this hotel that have been posted on various internet sites suggest that it is not up to specs. Merle Vines, who works for Hilton Hotels in Texas, informs me that these less than positive reviews are old and represent the hotel before it was recently taken over by Hilton Hotels. Hilton has very high standards and they have made the improvements to this property it needed. One of our friends just stayed at the hotel to make sure it was up to our standards and gave us a strong thumbs up. I have stayed at many Embassy Suites over the years and have always been pleased. Now that Hilton owns them, they will even get better. By the way, this is my 51st celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles going back to my first in 1959. I may be getting older, but I still feel that excitement of "going to the Feast." I hope to see you in Colorado Springs! --Ken Westby
